  • Despite an unexpected early morning, I enjoyed the cooler morning weather with an open window while “hanging out” with the Pen Addict podcast for this Lego build before work. Great chill vibes with this gorgeous set, and I’ve even got extra pieces on the way for future customizations.

  • My “pick-a-brick” parts order came yesterday! The color choices for some pieces were limited but I’m feeling pretty good about how the “olive octopus” is looking. The second photo is the original colors (and bonus cat).

  • The latest Lego flowers to join my shelves. The little pink and white flowers have a complex branch structure to create a more organic looking shape, I love the design that goes into these sets.

  • I love many Architecture & Ideas Lego sets, but the newer Botanical line is delightful to build and display. It’s interesting to see car hoods, oars, even frogs transformed into flowers. Finding pieces to add fall and winter looks to the Bonsai was fun, I love seeing all four together.

2 built Lego Bonsai sets with fall leaves and icy winter branches respectively, displayed alongside the original green branches and spring cherry blossom versions.

  • Day off plans: start filling in the Col-o-dex, add any inks missing in the Col-o-ring, and other swatching/dip pens fun. I may regret not looking for a folded nib in Atlanta though. 🖋
